Official range figures are summer numbers. What decides whether a used EV works for you is its winter range, how fast it takes on charge at a rapid unit, and whether it has a heat pump. Of the used EVs Forecourt tracks, the Tesla Model 3 manages the longest real-world winter range at around 330 miles. Winter figures run well below official ranges because cold batteries and cabin heating both eat into them — which is also why a heat pump matters.
Which used EV charges fastest?
The Kia EV6 is the quickest from 10–80% on a rapid charger, at about 18 minutes in the right conditions. Charging curves vary with temperature and battery state, so treat rapid-charge times as best-case.
Why does a heat pump matter on a used EV?
A heat pump heats the cabin far more efficiently than a resistive heater, so it protects winter range. On some models it was standard, on others a cost option — two otherwise identical used cars can behave differently in January. The tables here show which models had one as standard.
